KAYAKING CLUB
All experienced, beginner, or would-be kayakers, join us for this
popular new sport. Being a strong swimmer is not necessary, but instruction is essential for safety &efficiency. Simple
to learn at any age! Discount lessons & gear for Co-op members. Meeting with instructors, film, discussions, & refreshments.

daycare centers, outreach programs, religious organizations, senior & homebound,

our thrift shop’s proceeds support these programs as well.
CO-OP SERVICES AND COMMUNITY PROGRAMS
1.
Weekly Outreach: Thanks for donations: Long Island Harvest for foodstuffs.

Work Experience: Thanks to volunteers for teaching trainees.
3. Catalogue Orders: Remember, prepaid purchases get the deepest discount (at least 10%), and special orders
are always welcome. Check the Co-op & Kayak catalogues for groceries, health food, organic produce, and other items. Purchases
can go beyond store inventory: you can order anything in the catalogues, either in bulk or as individual items. Currently, more than half our sales are wholesale. A deposit on orders is requested. Also, please suggest items you’d like to see us stock. Catalogues, Kayak Club membership materials,
free magazines, and a clipboard for your ideas and orders is on the new Front Desk to the left of the entrance.
4. Consumer Education Booth. Check out our free literature, catalogues, and new product testing.
We have many samples
for taste-testing: evaluators welcome! Come use our member lending library, now located beside the Front Desk.

JOINING (and rejoining) THE CO-OP
Before
joining, guests may shop three times without the nonmember 10% surcharge.
Members
receive one hour of volunteer time for each new shopper they introduce to the Co-op.
If the shopper joins, the member receives an additional hour.
